Wehrmacht M35 Map Case (Meldetasche) – Brown Pebbled Leather
Original World War II German Wehrmacht M35 map case, also known as a Meldetasche, manufactured in the classic brown pebbled leather typical for early-war German field equipment. Map cases of this pattern were widely used by officers, NCOs, and dispatch personnel for carrying maps, documents, orders, and writing tools in the field.
The front features the characteristic integrated pencil and accessory holders, allowing quick access to writing instruments while on duty. The flap is secured with the correct leather closure strap and metal buckle plate, while the reverse retains its original belt suspension straps, enabling attachment to the soldier’s equipment belt.
The interior compartment was designed to store maps, orders, notebooks, and other operational documents, making the Meldetasche an essential item for command and communication roles within the Wehrmacht.

Collector Notes
The M35 map case is one of the most recognizable pieces of German WWII field equipment. Early brown leather examples are particularly desirable, as later-war production shifted toward black leather and simplified materials. Complete examples retaining their internal fittings and belt attachments are increasingly difficult to find.
A classic and practical piece of Wehrmacht officer field gear, ideal for collectors of German WWII equipment, field gear displays, or uniform setups.
