NSDAP Tinnie Badge – Wilhelm Schröder & Co., Lüdenscheid
NSDAP tinnie badge featuring the party swastika within a wreath motif, manufactured by Wilhelm Schröder & Co. of Lüdenscheid. This lightweight political badge represents one of the many commemorative or event-style badges produced during the Third Reich period for rallies, party gatherings, and political events.
The obverse displays a raised swastika set within a circular wreath of stylized oak leaves, symbolizing strength and loyalty—common imagery used in German political insignia of the era. The badge has a silvered finish and retains a pleasing aged patina from decades of natural wear.
The reverse is clearly maker marked “Wilh. Schröder & Co. Lüdenscheid”, a well-known manufacturer of badges and insignia located in the historic German metalworking center of Lüdenscheid, which produced numerous political and military awards during the 1930s and 1940s.
The badge is fitted with its original horizontal pin-back attachment, designed to be worn on civilian clothing during party events.

Historical Background
During the Third Reich, countless commemorative “tinnies” (Veranstaltungsabzeichen) were produced for party rallies, gatherings, and regional political events. These inexpensive badges were widely worn by attendees and supporters as souvenirs or symbols of participation.
Manufacturers such as Wilhelm Schröder & Co. were among the many firms authorized to produce these badges, often supplying large quantities for regional and national events.
Collector Notes
Original NSDAP tinnies with clearly visible maker marks are desirable additions to collections of Third Reich political insignia. Pieces produced in Lüdenscheid, Germany’s historic badge-making center, are especially well documented.
This example remains in honest collector condition, with a clear maker mark and intact pin assembly.
